The Community

 

We are a friendly community comprising just under 300 adult members, another 50 young adults and around 50 children. 

We  serve the Jewish community of Watford and its surrounding districts with members living in  Bushey, Croxley Green, Rickmansworth, Northwood and surrounding areas of Hertfordshire & North West London. Many of whom prefer the  more intimate atmosphere we offer, compared to the larger shuls.

The Shul

​

The Shul is situated in the Nascot Wood area of Watford. What was once a semi-detached house, it became our Shul in 1948, and was transformed into the modern synagogue we have today with the building of a large single storey extension following a fire in the early 1990s. At that time we changed our status from an Affiliate of the United Synagogue to full members

The Area

Those of us who live in Watford, think it to be the perfect location.

​

We have good road and rail transport into London, with M1  (20 minutes to Golders Green) and M25 close by, fast British Rail services from Watford Junction to Euston - 15-20 minutes, and the Met line into Baker Street and the City. 

​

We have a wonderful local shopping centre (INTU - formerly the Harlequin), and Brent Cross is easily reached, 

 

In Cassiobury Park we have a wonderful place to relax, and for the children to play. From the park we have walking access via Wippendell Woods and  Croxley Green into the Chiltern Hills countryside, or along the Grand Union Canal

Property Prices are affordable compared with NW London 

​

And to cap it all, we have a football team......well perhaps that one's best forgotten
